Sinking Slabs?Concrete slab sinking or cracked up? Uneven and settled concrete floors not only decrease property values, but create safety Some of the most common causes for slab settlement include drying and shrinking of soil under a slab, poorly compacted fill soils, and washout of soil. Each of these conditions create a void under the concrete slab. If the concrete is not strong enough to span the void, the slab will crack, break, and settle into the void. The following paragraphs offer some additional information for some of the more common reasons for slab settlement. Some homeowners think that removing and replacing the slab is the solution to fix the problem, without realizing how costly, messy and disruptive it is to your home. And, because the real problem is with the compaction of the soil rather than with the slab itself, the same problem is likely to occur again. Other solutions such as mudjacking, only add weight to the problem and are unable to reach deep, competent soils in order to support the slab permanently. Our Slab Pier System Is the Solution!
Installation allows you to fix your settled slab quickly, without the need to remove the existing slab and any walls in the area. Installations can be performed year round and do not require the use of heavy equipment. You can expect your concrete slab to be level and stablized without the cost or mess of replacement. The system can be installed in limited areas, year-round, in just a few days.
