Wall Anchors

Basement walls will usually begin to bow before you can see any cracks. This bowing is sometimes difficult to see, but any bowing at Wall Anchor Systems Repair Bowed Wallsall is an indication of a weakened structure. This can be from the external pressures on the foundation, and it’s only a matter of time before this cracking shows on the inside of the basement. Brick walls are just as vulnerable to bowing and cracking as concrete and are also susceptible to crumbling mortar.

Bowing of basement walls is a serious problem and must be addressed before the problem becomes irreparable. Although it is sometimes difficult to see bowing walls or sinking foundations when they begin, there are other signs that help you catch problems before they arise. Look for these signs:

  • Cracks in the walls that are wider at the top than at the bottom
  • Floors that are not level
  • Doors, cabinets and windows that do not shut properly
  • Cracking in the upstairs plaster and/or drywall
  • Cracking in exterior brickwork and/or caulking
  • Leaning of outside chimneys and/or porches

Foundation Supportworks' Wall Anchor System

The Foundation Supportworks' Wall Anchor System uses durable galvanized steel wall plates and earth anchors, sometimes called screw anchors, that are connected by a high-strength steel rod to permanently stabilize basement or foundation walls. This wall anchor system stabilizes a foundation wall and also offers an opportunity to straighten it over time, restoring structural integrity to a home.

Installation of the Foundation Supportworks' Wall Anchor system requires minimal disruption to landscaping and can be installed to avoid patios, decks, and sidewalks. Installations can be performed year round and are usually completed within one day.
